Pet Addendums outline rules and regulations for keeping pets, including which types are allowed, quantity limitations, and any size or breed restrictions. Additional monthly charges, deposits, and cleaning fees may be included to cover pet-related damages. Provisions also typically allow landlords to remove a pet or require its removal if the tenant fails to control it and addresses concerns specific to fish and aquariums, such as potential water damage from aquarium leaks or breakage.
In addition to specifying rules, fees and other legal provisions, the Pet Addendum will document each pet that will be kept at the rental property, including animal type and breed, identifying information, health and vaccination status, and any history of biting or aggression.
